Dodgers Deny Federal Agents Access to Stadium Amid Immigration Protests

Los Angeles, June 2025

The Los Angeles Dodgers have confirmed that they refused access to federal agents who appeared at Dodger Stadium on Thursday, amid growing protests across the city against heightened immigration enforcement.

In a social media post, the team stated that agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) requested entry to the stadium’s parking lot but were denied access. However, ICE has denied the claim, saying its personnel were not at the venue. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) later clarified that the presence of other agents from Customs and Border Protection (CBP) was unrelated to any enforcement operation.

Eyewitnesses reported that multiple federal vehicles were spotted at the entrance of the stadium early Thursday, followed shortly by protestors.

The Dodgers went on with their scheduled game against the San Diego Padres. Meanwhile, reports suggest the team is planning to support immigrants affected by recent ICE activity. The franchise has a significant Latino fan base, and many of its players, like Kiké Hernández, have spoken out against the recent raids. Hernández expressed his outrage on Instagram, calling the situation heartbreaking and unacceptable.

This development comes amid a wider crackdown under President Trump's administration, with over 66,000 immigration arrests reported in the first 100 days of his second term. Thousands of National Guard troops and Marines have been deployed to Los Angeles to support federal efforts as demonstrations continue.

White House immigration czar Tom Homan has also announced the return of worksite raids targeting industries like agriculture and hospitality, with an emphasis on arresting criminal offenders first.
